NEHA & NRPP Certification

The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) and the National Radon Protection Program (NRPP) is the EPA approved education and certification provider for Radon Testing and Radon Mitigation. Training and certification includes initial on-site training generally at Rutgers University in New Jersey, followed by testing and required  continuing education along with regular recertification. Radon has been identified by the EPA as the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States among smokers and the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers. It is clearly extremely important that this documented national health hazard be handled by educated and certified individuals. Radon Testing and Mitigation must be taken seriously and done properly as ill qualified individuals performing tests can lead to incorrect results. An improperly installed Radon Mitigation System can DRAMATICALLY increase Radon Levels in a home or building. Remarkably, approximately 25% of my radon mitigation work is changing and/or repairing improper and sometimes dangerously installed mitigation systems. Charlie Ricker is certified by NEHA-NRPP as both a Radon Measurement Technician (#104157RT) and a Radon Mitigation Specialist (104158RMT).

To reiterate, Radon (Rn) is an environmental exposure to radiation that is the second leading cause of lung cancer among smokers and the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers. Exposure to elevated levels of Radon gas can be easily avoided. Any and all Radon Testing &/or Radon Mitigation must be done by Trained, Educated, and Certified individuals.
